Meet The Founder
I started Campbeltown Consulting in 2010 to advise and support the development and growth of natural, organic and artisan food and beverage brands. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to help clients, whose values are in alignment with my own, achieve success
Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North America, I've witnessed and worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and executives deeply committed to the integrity and social values of their brands. I'm very comfortable around business strategy, marketing and sales management.
Following in the food footsteps of my mother who taught cookery at school and Uncles who ran a supermarket chain, a produce wholesaler and a whisky distillery in Scotland, I've been fortunate to acquire skills and expertize as a brand strategist and connector. I've helped companies build their business, grow their networks and make decisions around their brands with bravery and purpose. Recent clients have included Fishpeople, New Seasons Market, Bluebird Grain Farms, Jasmine Pearl Tea Co, Rogue Creamery and Oregon State University for whom I created an online multi-module curriculum for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Prior to consulting and coaching, I held senior positions with Daymon Worldwide, Safeway (UK) and Harrods of London. One of my favorite projects was to work with an artisan Indian bakery that used traditional clay tandoor ovens to produce delicious bubbly Naan breads. With technical support and a clear growth strategy, the company quickly blossomed. It went from zero retail presence to supplying 1,000 high volume stores in less than 3 years.
I moved to the U.S to lead the revitalization of Kroger's organic brand in the natural channel.
In addition to consulting, I run Mastermind groups for early stage entrepreneurs, write grants and a regular column for the Provender journal and sit on the board of Slow Food Portland. I live in Portland, Oregon with my wife to whom I proposed at a Farmers Market, our two boys and my soccer loving border collie.
